Junior Choir

choir-1This is a choir which is available for 7-12 year olds. It is not auditioned and meets in the Parish Rooms, alongside the Parish Church, on Friday evenings from 6.15pm until 6.45pm.

The music is a mixture of pop, jazz and traditional sacred music ( in the past Swinging Samson and Jonah man Jazz have been performed) often performing once a term as part of the morning service on a Sunday. Dancing and gesture are part of the training – the atmosphere being amiable.

The first practice is on Friday 9th September and will continue weekly for the school term continuing for the approach to Christmas.  Parents are asked to stay for the rehearsal which concludes with a drink and biscuit and a brief opportunity to chat.

New members are very welcome to come to the first meeting.

Nova Singers

This is a small auditioned choir which takes teenage members who can sing, have experience and some musical literacy. These singers also mix with chorally experienced and proficient adults. The size of the SATB group is between 8 and 12. The repertoire is sacred music from the classical repertoire which is performed to a high standard.

Past members have gone on to read music at university. It performs once a term either as part of the morning service; at the occasional wedding or as part or concerts featuring other choral groups.
